Once a year, Browncoats around the globe hold charity screenings of the sci-fi movie SERENITY to raise money for Equality Now and other worthy causes. In Raleigh, we also support Kids Need to Read. For five years, we've had our screening at Raleighwood Cinema Grill, 6609 Falls of Neuse Road, Raleigh.

Only one night this year?
Yes one night. We wanted to concentrate on one really good night and try and sell it out. Please help spread the word:)
Coordinating one of these events is a huge undertaking, and I know this first-hand because I'm the one who brought it to Raleigh in 2006, and who coordinated it for three years. This event cannot happen unless people like Jim (or last year, Maer, Sharon and Liz) step up and make it happen, and are willing to devote endless hours and effort to it. I'm glad Jim was willing to take it on and make it happen again this year, even if just for one night. Thank you, Jim!
Thank you so much for doing this! I have gone the past 4 years and it has been wonderful. Sadly, Sundays don't work for me, but I will be there in spirit. Aim to misbehave for me Browncoats.
This was my first time. Thanks for such a great event, I'll definitely be back next year!
Maybe next year I'll actually know people. It seemed like the entire crowd knew each other!
Whomajigi,
Some of us have been doing this together for the past 5 years, and several attendees are on the NC Browncoats Yahoo Group. Some folks also know each other from things like Dragon*Con or the Browncoat Ball. Looking forward to seeing you next year, if not sooner!
